Mr. Matthew Blackstone, Principal of Glynn Middle School, has very graciously offered to host our 2014-2015 GISCA tournaments again this year.

Information about Glynn Middle School

 

Glynn Middle School is well known for students' academic, fine arts, and athletic achievements. It is a National School of Excellence, a Title I School of Distinction and a State Gold Medal Award Winner for Greatest Gains in Student Achievement.  The $23 million state-of-the art facility opened on August 6, 2009.  The students of Glynn Middle School have the opportunity to participate in numerous clubs (including chess) and athletic endeavors.  Student enrollment during the 2011-2012 school year was 1027 students.

 

Glynn Middle School should be easy to reach, although some online map services show the former and/or other incorrect locations for the school.

GISCA is pleased to announce that we will have food services provided by Southern Folks Catering and Concessions owned by Mr. Dusty Bowen.  Mr. Bowen will be interested in hearing your feedback, so be sure to offer your suggestions for food at future GISCA chess tournaments!

 

GISCA has committed to keeping food and beverages out of the gymnasium.

GISCA has committed to players/parents not being in other areas of the school.
