Registration Information
- Open to all students and adults, including those outside of Georgia.
- Online registration and
pre-payment option opened September 14, 2009.
- All participants are strongly urged to register online. Online registration will close at 6:00 pm on the Friday preceding each tournament.
- All online registrations received will be posted on the web site. Please check the web site regularly to confirm the accuracy of your registration. A maximum of 200 players will be allowed to participate.
- Players in the Grand Prix and Adult sections should have their USCF card. Remember, the more on-site registrations that must be processed, the more difficult it will be for organizers to begin the tournament on time.
- On-Site registration is available at the tournament site (Jekyll Island Convention Center). All on-site registrations and must be completed between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. This deadline will be strictly enforced.
Registration and Entry Fees:
- Online registration and pre-paying for all four 2009-2010 GISCA chess tournaments in advance:
- Online registration and pre-paying is the most economical way to pay for GISCA chess tournaments and can save you up to $30.00!
- Players may register online and pre-pay for all four 2009-2010 GISCA chess tournaments online for only $50.00. Online registration and pre-payment for all four tournament should occur prior to the first tournament on
October 18, 2009.
- If payment is made by check and mailed, it must be received at the GISCA mailing address no later than Wednesday, October
14, 2009.
- Online registration for individual 2009-2010 GISCA chess tournaments prior to the tournament:
- Players may register online for one or more 2009-2010 GISCA chess tournaments before 6:00 pm on the evening prior to the tournament date.
- When registering online, players may pre-pay online for the tournament(s), or may pay with a check or cash at the tournament site on the day of the tournament. Online payment cannot be accepted at the tournament site on the day of the tournament.
- The tournament cost is $15.00 for those players registering online before 6:00 pm on the evening prior to the tournament.
- Online registration for GISCA chess tournaments will save you $5.00 per tournament, regardless of whether you pre-pay or pay onsite.
- Onsite Registration for a 2009-2010 GISCA chess tournaments on the day of the tournament:
- Players may register for 2009-2010 GISCA chess tournaments onsite on the day of the tournament.
- When registering onsite (i.e. not having already registering online), players must complete onsite registration between 8:30 am - 9:00 am. This deadline will be strictly enforced.
- The tournament cost is $20.00 for those players registering onsite. Payment must be via check or cash.
- Players are strongly encouraged to complete online registration before 6:00 pm on the evening prior to the tournament. Beside saving $5.00, your online registration will enable the tournament to begin on time.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you did not pre-pay for a specific tournament, all fees are to be paid on-site the day of the tournament. Fees may be paid by cash or check made out to GISCA. Credit Cards cannot be accepted.

USCF Membership Information:
- All GISCA chess players are encouraged to obtain United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership, although players competing in the Junior Novice (K-5) and Senior Novice (6-12) sections do not require USCF membership.
- Scholastic players in the Grand Prix sections (i.e. not the Junior Novice (K-5) and Senior Novice (6-12)sections)
and Adult section
players must have valid USCF membership.
- You may obtain or renew USCF membership by visiting the USCF web site at https://secure.uschess.org/webstore/member.php preferred) or we will assist you with your membership application or renewal on the day of the tournament.
- Regular Scholastic Membership (age 12 and under): $16/year
- Includes online access to Chess Life For Kids.
- Includes the right to earn a chess rating in the official national rating system.
- Regular Scholastic members must be 13 years old
or under at expiration, whether paying for one year
or multiple years.
- Premium Scholastic Membership (age 12 and under): $23/year
- Includes Chess Life For Kids (6 issues).
- Includes the right to earn a chess rating in the official national rating system.
- Premium Scholastic members must be 13 years old
or under at expiration, whether paying for one year
or multiple years.
- Regular Youth Membership (age 15 and under): $20/year
- Includes online access to Chess Life For Kids.
- Includes the right to earn a chess rating in the official national rating system.
- Regular Youth members must be 16 years old or
under at expiration, whether paying for one year or
multiple years.
- Premium Youth Membership (age 15 and under): $27/year
- Includes Chess Life For Kids (6 issues).
- Includes the right to earn a chess rating in the official national rating system.
- Premium Youth members must be 16 years old or
under at expiration, whether paying for one year or
multiple years.
- Regular Young Adult Membership (age 24 and under): $24/year
- Includes online access to Chess Life.
- Includes the right to earn a chess rating in the official national rating system.
- Regular Young Adult members must be 25 years old
or under at expiration, whether paying for one year
or multiple years.
- Premium Young Adult Membership (age 24 and under): $32/year
- Includes Chess Life (12 issues).
- Includes the right to earn a chess rating in the official national rating system.
- Premium Young Adult members must be 25 years old
or under at expiration, whether paying for one year

- Regular Adult Membership: $29/year
- Includes online access to Chess Life.

- Senior Membership (age 65 and older): $36/year
- Includes Chess Life (12 issues).

- Adult Tournament Membership (one day only): $12/tournament
- Available at the tournament site on the day of the tournament
for players 25 years or older.
- Each TM entitles the player to one issue of Chess Life, plus the option of applying
$10 of the TM fee, within 60 days, to a full USCF membership.
- No more than one TM fee may be applied to the cost of any one-year membership.
- Junior Tournament Membership (one day only): $7/tournament
- Available at the tournament site on the day of the tournament
for players 24 years or younger.
- Each TM entitles the player to one issue of Chess Life
or Chess Life for Kids, plus the option of applying
$5 of the TM fee, within 60 days, to a full USCF membership.
- No more than one TM fee may be applied to the cost of any one-year membership.
- Family membership Plan #1: $70/year
- This is a membership plan for the entire family!
- Provides USCF memberships for both parents and all children under 25 in the family, providing they are living at the same address.
- Includes USCF memberships for any full-time college students up to age 24, even if living at a different address, such as a college dorm.
- Includes Chess Life (12 issues). For families with college student family members, the family's monthly copy of Chess Life will be sent to the home address, not to the college student's address
- For families with children enrolled in the family membership plan who are under 14, it also includes a subscription to Chess Life for Kids, the USCF's bi-monthly magazine for younger members.
- Family Membership Plan #2: $44/year
- This is a plan just for the kids.
- Provides USCF memberships for all children under 25 in the family who are living at the same address.
- Includes Chess Life (12 issues). For families with college student family members, the family's monthly copy of Chess Life will be sent to the home address, not to the college student's address.
- For families with children enrolled in the family membership plan who are under 14, it also includes a subscription to Chess Life for Kids, the USCF's bi-monthly magazine for younger members.
